Assoc. Prof. Dr. Weihong Gao is an accomplished materials scientist and textile engineering researcher, currently serving as Director of the Textile Engineering Department and Master’s Supervisor at Shanghai University of Engineering Science (SUES). He obtained his Ph.D. from The University of Manchester and has since focused on advancing the frontiers of photonic crystal materials and structural color technology. Dr. Gao is a recognized member of the China Textile Engineering Society (CTES) and a recipient of the prestigious Young Oriental Scholar award for Shanghai Universities, reflecting his academic excellence and research leadership. His research explores the controllable preparation of nano-microspheres, microsphere self-assembly technology, and the regulation of full-spectrum structural colors with significant industrial and environmental applications. Dr. Gao has authored 25 peer-reviewed publications, accumulating 313 citations and an h-index of 8, demonstrating the growing influence of his work within the materials science and textile research communities.
